Active Vision

The main objective is to develop new knowledge and to transfer intelligent active vision systems into the industry. These systems can increase the degree of security, control, autonomy, flexibility and efficiency of the production processes. The vision systems are called active when are capable to be adapted automatically to capture the desired images.

These systems can be installed in a wide spectrum of applications, as for example in:

  • Vigilance and security: to search, to detect, to track and to recognize objects in movement.
  • Modeling and design: to create the 3D geometric models of products and/or scenes.
  • Production: a 3D artificial vision can be used to locate the objects which can be manipulated by an industrial robot.
  • Verification and inspection of the production process and/or the final quality control of the products.
